Ian Wilcock has hit the heights by climbing all 284 of the Munro mountains in Scotland.
Since 1999 Ian and his mates have trekked north of the border twice a year to tick off each of the 3,000ft high mountains – conquering as many as seven in a day!
Cooper & Hall Director Ian said the achievement was a “relief”, adding: “When we started this I’d never heard of the Munros. But after completing 50, I thought ‘we can do all of these’.
“At the start we used to run down them. In recent years it’s been a bit more sedate, though there have been some hairy moments.”

Ian has been recognised by the Munro Society as the 6,059th climber to ‘bag’ all the mountains.
In 2017 the intrepid explorers have no plans to put their feet up, with a long-distance walk scheduled for the autumn.
